Producing the best quality product is important to us. Through this easy-to-follow guide we will help you setup your designs ready for a high-quality print.
Quick Start Guide
Size & Ratio
The size and ratio of your design MUST match the size and shape of the label you’re purchasing
Text minimum of 6pt
Resolution
For best printing results your image resolution should be a minimum 300dpi or designed using vector format
Colour Mode
Your artwork should be designed within the colour range of CMYK Mode. This increases colour accuracy.
Bleed & Safe Zone
Artwork should have sufficient bleed to eliminate any white edges in the final label.
3mm Bleed & 2mm Safe Zone

Size & Ratio
What is Size and Ratio?
When purchasing your stickers or labels it is important to select a shape that is compatible with your design or logo.
What will happen if I purchase a sticker in the wrong size and ratio?
If the selected size and ratio are incompatible with your design, there will be white voids in the final sticker. We will send you proof of your sticker before it goes to print, so do not worry, you will have an opportunity to amend the size and ratio of your final sticker if you need to.
Example: Purchasing a 50x50mm sticker will need artwork at the same ratio of 50x50mm.
Resolution
What Resolution shall I use?
We recommend setting your design up for 300dpi or higher resolution. This will provide us with a crisp clear image and will produce fantastic results when printing.
Providing vector files will produce the best results.
What if my design doesn't meet your recommendation?
If the design is lower than our recommended dpi, then you will run the risk of having a pixelated sticker in the final product. This is mostly seen in the edges of the image or text.
Colour Mode
What is colour mode?
Colour mode is a setting within design-based software packages. For the best results we recommend you setup your design file in the CMYK* colour mode, in line with the CMYK ink combination of our professional grade printers. Be sure to check your colour mode settings before starting a new design.
*CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key [black])
Can you print RGB?
Unfortunately, not. RGB is used in displays like the screen you are looking at now, whereas printers use the ink combination of CMYK. If you upload a design(s) using an RGB colour combination the printing software will select the most appropriate CMYK colour match, and the colours in your finished product will look different. They will be similar but not be an exact match with your original design.
*RGB (Red, Blue, and Green)
Bleed & Safe Zone
What is Bleed & Safe Zone?
Adding bleed is the process of extending the background beyond the cut line. This is done to eliminate white edges from your stickers or labels, creating a final product that has an edge-to-edge ink layer that covers the whole shape.
What is safe zone?
Our cutters have a natural movement tolerance of +/-1mm. Applying a safe zone significantly reduces the risk that any key features in your design will be cut because of this natural movement. We recommend that all you keep all key features of your design a minimum of 2mm from the edge of the sticker or label.
Fonts
What font size shall I use?
We recommend a minimum font size for all stickers and labels of 6pt. This is to ensure that all text is clear and legible on final product.
If at any time you reduce the size of your overall design, we suggest resetting the font size back to a minimum of 6pt.
What if my font size is lower than recommend size?
Including a font smaller than 6pt will significantly increase the likelihood that any text on the final product will be illegible.
File Formats
We accept a range of file formats. Below is a list of accept file formats.
Accepted formats : JPG, PNG, PSD, AI, PDF, EPS,
Which Cut should you use ?
A brief explanation of cut lines and the best option for your design.
Kiss Cut
What is Kiss Cut?
In a kiss cut the blade cuts through the top layer of the material but does not cut through the backing paper. This creates a sticker that can be peeled from the backing paper and applied to your product with ease.
What Would I use Kiss Cut for?
You would normally choose kiss cut when you want to apply to a surface quickly and easily. Kiss cut is our default cut and is supplied on sheets of A4 or smaller.
Die Cut
What is Die cut?
Die cut is when the blade cuts through the top and bottom layer of material, producing a sticker/label with the backing sheet in the same shape.
What would I use Die Cut for?
Die cut stickers are a great way to hand out to customers, promoting your business or a fun little gift. As the backing paper comes with each individual sticker they can be applied at any time or stored.
Cut Contour
What is Cut Contour?
Cut contour is when the cut line is set a few millimetres back from your design. This normally results in a white edge around the design which gives great contrast when the sticker or label is applied.
What would I use Cut Contour for?
If there is not enough bleed or you want a breaking point between the surface and design, then a cut contour is perfect.
Our printers have a cutting tolerance of +/-1mm. Due to natural movement of the material during the printing process we recommend a 2mm gap between cutline and design. This will ensure that none of the key features are cut.
Bleed Cut
What is Bleed Cut?
A bleed cut is when the background of your design is extended a few extra millimetres. This is done to create space for the blade to cut in between the safe zone of your design and the perimeter of your background.
What would I use Bleed Cut for?
Bleed cut is a great way to eliminate white edges from your stickers or labels, creating a final product that has an edge-to-edge ink layer that covers the whole shape.
Our printers have a cutting tolerance of +/-1mm. Due to natural movement of the material during the printing process we recommend a 3mm bleed of the background to ensure that there are no white edges.
